Karaka Kōpī – Zealandia

Live Illustrated Virtual Hui

ABOUT

Over two days of wānanga, we captured the kōrero from the people who are ensconced in the role of looking after Aotearoa’s native forests and their biodiversity.

The hui was centred around the karaka berry and its importance to Morirori. We captured the rich whakaaro and nuanced conversations in pictures weaving together images that are both engaging, and informative for anyone who wants to learn more about this precious berry that was the cornerstone of Moriori life on Rekohu.
